Change what the Launcher lists

The Launcher lists what matches your typing in sections: Open tabs, Pins and Favorites, Commands, History, and Search suggestions. You choose their order, how many rows each shows, and which ones show at all.

You switch between tabs far more often than you search, so you want more open tabs and no search suggestions.

  1. Open Settings › Search and Launcher.
  2. Under Launcher sections, find the section you want to change.
  3. In the menu next to its name, choose how many rows it shows.
  4. Select Move up or Move down to change its place.
  5. To take it out of the Launcher, select Hide.

The Launcher uses the new order and limits the next time you type in it.

  • A hidden section moves to the end of the list, marked Not shown. Select Show to put it back, last in the order.
  • Choosing None keeps a section in its place with no rows.
  • Until you change them, Open tabs shows 4 rows, Pins and Favorites 3, Commands 3, History 5, and Search suggestions 3.
  • The limits apply while you type. With nothing typed, or in a command’s list of choices, the Launcher lists every row that fits.
  • The first row, the one Enter opens, always shows, whatever you hide.
  • These settings sync to your other devices.
  • The home page’s search field follows the same settings.
