Turn on Mozilla's compatibility fixes
Mozilla publishes a list that weakens fingerprinting protection on Google’s and Bing’s sites. Sval doesn’t use it unless you turn it on, so those sites get full protection.
A Google service misbehaves for you, and you want to try it with Mozilla’s fixes.
- Open Settings › Privacy and protection.
- Under Fingerprinting, open Advanced.
- Select Compatibility.
- Turn on Mozilla’s compatibility fixes.
Details
Section titled “Details”- The fixes might help those sites work, and the sites can also recognize your device more easily.
- With the fixes on, the Privacy and Security button shows Fingerprinting protection as off on a site they cover, and says that Mozilla’s fix weakens protection there. To keep full protection on that site, turn the switch on. That choice syncs to your other devices.
- Private windows always use Mozilla’s fixes while they’re on. There, the switch can’t turn full protection back on.
