Open a private window
A private window keeps nothing after you close it. Each private window is a session of its own.
You want to check a Codeberg page signed out, without signing out of your own account.
- Press ⇧⌘N (Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows and Linux).
A private window opens. The top of its panel reads “Private window. Tabs here aren’t saved or synced.”
In the menu bar, File › New Private Window does the same.
Details
Section titled “Details”- A private window can’t see another private window’s cookies or site data, or those of your Workspaces.
- Nothing about its tabs is saved to disk or synced.
- Choices you make for a site in a private window last until you close it. Settings opened there can’t change anything Sval keeps, such as an extension’s switch for a site.
- When you close it, its cookies and site data are deleted.
- A sign-in window a page opens shares that page’s session, so signing in works.
- A private window has one Workspace of its own. It has no list of Workspaces, no Favorites, and no pins.
- Tabs and groups work as in any window.
- You can’t move a tab into or out of a private window.
- Files you download stay on your computer.
