Make a choice for one address on a site

A choice can cover one address, like nas.example.com, or all of example.com. An address takes every choice it doesn’t make for itself from its site.

Your home server is at nas.example.com, and you want its JavaScript on while the rest of example.com keeps it off.

  1. Go to a page on the address, such as nas.example.com.
  2. Open the Privacy and Security button or the Site settings arrow.
  3. In the title, choose the address or All of example.com.
  4. Make the choice.

The site settings menu, the Privacy and Security panel, the extensions menu, and the Remove from this site card all start on the address.

  1. Open Settings › Sites.
  2. In Your sites, select the site’s row.
  3. Next to the site’s name, select More, then choose Add an address….
  4. In the field that opens, type the address.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Make the choice in the cards that follow.

The choices cover that address and every address under it. Once the site has an address with choices, the page shows Choices for in place of More, and Add an address… is the last choice in it.

  • An address with choices of its own is listed under its site in Settings › Sites. Its Reset removes only that address’s choices.
  • On a site’s page, Choices for picks which address you’re changing. The cards under For all of example.com, such as Permissions and Cookies and site data, always cover the whole site.
  • When the site’s choice is showing, a line says which choices the address keeps for itself.
  • The JavaScript button changes the address you’re on.
  • www.example.com and example.com count as the same address.
  • Site permissions such as camera and location always belong to the exact address that asked.
