Turn off recently used order for Ctrl+Tab

⌃Tab (Ctrl+Tab on Windows and Linux) switches to the tab you used last in this Workspace. You can have it go to the next tab in the panel instead.

You think of your tabs in the order the panel lists them, and want ⌃Tab to walk down that list.

  1. Open Settings › Keyboard shortcuts.
  2. Turn off the switch for Ctrl+Tab switches to recently used tabs.

On a Mac, the switch reads ⌃Tab switches to recently used tabs. With it off, ⌃Tab goes to the next tab in the panel.

  • With the switch on, keep holding ⌃ (Ctrl) and press Tab again to go further back through the tabs you used.
  • ⌃⇧Tab (Ctrl+Shift+Tab) goes to the previous tab in the panel either way.
  • The setting syncs to your other devices.
