Move a tab to another Workspace

A tab belongs to one Workspace. You can move it, or a whole group, to another Workspace.

You opened a Codeberg issue while in Home, and it belongs with your Work tabs.

  1. In the panel, right-click the tab, then choose Move to Workspace.
  2. Choose the Workspace to move it to.

The tab leaves this window’s panel and goes to the end of the other Workspace. The window stays on the Workspace it was showing.

To move it to a Workspace that doesn’t exist yet, choose New Workspace… in step 2. Sval asks for the new Workspace’s name, color, and emoji, then moves the tab there.

When the other Workspace is open in its own window:

  1. In the panel, drag the tab’s row into the other window’s panel.
  2. Drop it where you want it among that Workspace’s tabs.

The tab joins that window’s Workspace where you drop it.

  • The menu moves a group the same way, with everything inside it. Right-click the group, then choose Move to Workspace.
  • To move several tabs at once, select their rows first. ⌘-click (Ctrl-click on Windows and Linux) adds a row to the selection, and Shift-click selects every row in between. Then right-click one of them.
  • Dragging into another window moves one tab at a time. It doesn’t move a group, a Split, or a selection of several rows.
  • A tab you move to another window in any other way, for example with an extension, also joins that window’s Workspace.
  • When either Workspace is isolated, Sval asks before it moves the tab. The tab reloads in the other Workspace, and you might need to sign in again there. See Isolate a Workspace.
