Send a site's links to a Workspace
A rule sends the links from other apps that match it straight to a Workspace, as a new tab, in place of a Peek.
Every Fastmail link you open from your calendar belongs in your Home Workspace. You add a rule, and they open there without a Peek.
- Open Settings › Links.
- Under Rules, select Add rule.
- In Match by, choose Site or Address contains.
- Type the site, like fastmail.com, or part of an address, like codeberg.org/acme.
- In Workspace, choose the Workspace.
- Select Add.
The line under the form says what the rule will do before you add it, like “Links from other apps to fastmail.com and its subdomains open in Home Workspace.”
Change or remove a rule
Section titled “Change or remove a rule”- To change a rule, select the pencil next to it, make your change, then select Save.
- To delete a rule, select the × next to it. Undo puts it back.
- To change the order, drag a rule up or down. On the keyboard, focus its grip and press the Up or Down arrow key.
Details
Section titled “Details”- Site matches the site and its subdomains. You can paste a whole address, and Sval keeps the site.
- Address contains matches any address with that text in it. It needs at least 3 characters and no spaces.
- Sval tries the rules in order, and the first one that matches wins. A rule that a rule above it always matches first says This rule never applies.
- The link opens as a new tab in the window that shows the Workspace. If no window does, your frontmost window switches to it.
- Rules apply whether Peeks are on or off.
- Rules apply only to links from other apps. Links you click in Sval aren’t changed.
- Rules sync to all your devices. While sync is off, they stay on this device.
- Agent Workspaces aren’t offered.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”- No Workspace. The rule’s Workspace was deleted. Edit the rule and choose another. Until then, its links open as if the rule weren’t there.
- Rule 2 is already for fastmail.com. A rule for that site already exists. Edit that one instead.
