Isolate a Workspace

An isolated Workspace keeps its own cookies and sign-ins. Sites in it can’t see that you’re signed in from your other Workspaces.

You use Fastmail for work and for home. You isolate your Work Workspace, sign in to your work account there, and stay signed in to your home account everywhere else.

  1. At the top of the panel, select the current Workspace’s name.
  2. At the bottom of the list, choose New Workspace….
  3. In Name, type a name for the Workspace.
  4. Check Isolate this Workspace.
  5. Select Create.
  1. At the top of the panel, right-click the Workspace’s name.
  2. Choose Isolate Workspace….
  3. In the dialog, select Isolate Workspace.

Every tab in the Workspace reloads. The Workspace starts with no sign-ins, so sign in again on the sites you use there. Isolated shows next to the Workspace’s name at the top of the panel.

To isolate a Workspace the window isn’t showing, open the list at the top of the panel and right-click that Workspace there.

  1. At the top of the panel, right-click the Workspace’s name.
  2. Choose Stop isolating Workspace….
  3. In the dialog, select Stop isolating.

Every tab in the Workspace reloads with the sign-ins of your other Workspaces. Sval deletes the sign-ins and site data that were kept only in the isolated Workspace.

  • Whether a Workspace is isolated syncs to your other devices. The sign-ins don’t, so you sign in once on each device. When you isolate a Workspace, your other devices reload its tabs without asking.
  • In the list at the top of the panel, an isolated Workspace has a box next to its name.
  • Moving a tab into or out of an isolated Workspace reloads it, and Sval asks first.
  • Deleting an isolated Workspace deletes its sign-ins and site data too.
