Settings › Sites holds the defaults every site gets, and every site you made a choice for.

Every site gets these settings until you make a choice for it.

  • Run JavaScript on every site is on by default. The JavaScript button turns it on or off for one site.
  • Allow sites to play video and audio is Always allow, Ask first, or Always deny. It starts on Ask first.
  • Permissions sets Location, Camera, Microphone, Notifications, and Virtual reality to Ask or Block. Sites ask before they use these, unless you block them.
  • Pause notifications until Sval restarts and Block pop-ups and third-party redirects are Firefox’s own settings.

Your sites lists each site you made a choice for, including the ones you made with the Privacy and Security button. They sync to your other devices. In a private window, the list shows that window’s choices, which last until you close it and never sync.

  • Find a site narrows the list.
  • Show filters it: All sites, All protections off, Fingerprinting protection off, Fingerprinting exceptions, Removed elements, JavaScript allowed, JavaScript blocked, With permissions, With extension switches, or one of the Video and audio choices.
  • Add site opens the page of a site you type.
  • Each row says what differs from the defaults. An address with choices of its own is listed under its site.
  • Reset puts the site back on the defaults. Cookies and sign-ins stay. When the site has removed elements, Sval asks first, because their rules are deleted. On an address, Reset removes only that address’s choices.
  • Selecting a row opens the site’s page.

Choices for shows once an address on the site has choices of its own. It picks the whole site or one address. Add an address… adds another. Without it, the More button next to the site’s name offers Add an address….

  • Protections is Default, or turns protections off, fingerprinting protection off, or protections on without Mozilla’s fix.
  • Video and audio is Default, Always allow, Ask first, or Always deny.
  • Fingerprinting exceptions opens switches that let the site read one kind of device detail: Canvas, Installed fonts, All speech voices, All your languages, WebGPU timestamp queries, and Standard audio hardware.
  • JavaScript is Default, Allowed, or Blocked.
  • Removed elements lists what you removed with Remove from this site.
  • Extensions lists the extensions you turned off or on for the site.

The cards under For all of example.com cover the whole site, whichever address Choices for shows:

  • Permissions lists the site’s permissions. They apply in every Workspace.
  • Cookies and site data lists each place that holds the site’s data, with its size and a Clear button. Clear everywhere signs you out of the site in every Workspace, after you confirm. Manage data… and Manage exceptions… open Firefox’s dialogs for all sites.
  • Forget this site clears everything Sval keeps for the site, in every Workspace, after you confirm. Forget… lists what it clears, on every device and on this device.

In a private window, a site’s page changes only Protections and Video and audio, and the changes last until the window closes. Everything else on the page is read-only, extension switches included, so a site you visit only in private windows is never kept in Your sites.
