Turn off protections for a site
The Privacy and Security button sits in the address bar, next to the site’s address. Its panel turns Sval’s protections off for the site you’re on.
A shop’s checkout won’t load, and you think blocking is the cause.
Turn off all protections
Section titled “Turn off all protections”- In the address bar, select the Privacy and Security button.
- Under This site, turn off Protections for this site.
The tab reloads. The panel’s header reads Protections off for this site, and the panel counts the trackers the page loaded.
Turn off fingerprinting protection only
Section titled “Turn off fingerprinting protection only”- In the address bar, select the Privacy and Security button.
- Under This site, turn off Fingerprinting protection.
The tab reloads. Sval still blocks trackers and ads on the site, and the site can read your device’s real details.
Details
Section titled “Details”- To turn protections back on, turn the same switch on again.
- Protections block trackers and ads and resist fingerprinting. With protections off, Fingerprinting protection is off too and can’t be changed.
- Parts of pages you removed with Remove from this site stay removed when protections are off.
- On an address like
nas.example.com, the panel’s title picks whether the choice covers that address alone or all ofexample.com. See Make a choice for one address on a site. - Your choices sync to your other devices. Manage sites at the bottom of the panel opens Settings › Sites with the site listed.
- In a private window, a choice lasts until you close the window and never syncs. A private window can’t turn fingerprinting protection off on its own. Turn off all protections for the site instead.
- To let a site read only some device details, give it a fingerprinting exception. See Give a site a fingerprinting exception.
